Frequently Asked Questions
1
What is my approach to psychiatry?
My approach not only focuses on treating mental illness, but also recognizes the impact that both the illness and treatment can have on our bodies.
2
How do I accept payments?
When I opened my private psychiatry practice, I made a decision to accept private-pay only. This means I accept payment by cash, Venmo or PayPal. More importantly, it means I do not accept or bill insurance.
3
Do you take insurance?
I do not participate in the payment or reimbursement process with insurance companies. This is an important boundary for me as an ethical obligation to my clients and a self-care obligation to myself.
4
What are the out of pocket charges?
The initial intake is not time-bound, it can be anywhere from 1-2hrs based on your availability.
This kind of flexibility in my service is because of no insurance restrictions as I don't feel the pressure to maximize the number of patients I see.
Each of my patients gets individualized service as each of my patients are unique individuals and not a diagnostic code to befit in insurance paradigm.
The psychiatric diagnostic interview is $300 and has to be paid before the appointment.
